Measures

Measures represent quantitative data, which is usually numeric. This is opposed to member elements, which are qualitative. The data that is populated by adding measures is determined by whichever member is added to the query.

The data model's measures are exposed in the Measures Tree, where they are generally grouped into logical folders. For example, in the Sample Demo model the Data folder contains all the measures relating to monetary values, such as sales, profit, and expenses. But the Customer Profile folder contains counts, like age, number of cars, and number of children.
